Janus Henderson Investors has hired Dean Cheeseman to join its multi-asset team in London as a fund manager. Dean will report to Paul O’Connor, head of multi-asset.

Dean joins from Mercer, where he was a lead portfolio manager responsible for managing over US$5.8bn of active institutional strategies. He has over 20 years’ experience working in financial markets for companies such as F&C Asset Management and Morgan Stanley.

Commenting on the appointment, Paul O’Connor says, “I have known Dean for many years and believe his experience and calibre will bring great benefits to our team.

“Dean has an impressive track record of delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns for clients based on his skills in asset allocation and fund selection. His proven ability in raising assets will be invaluable as we focus on exploiting the many growth opportunities facing our multi-asset business at this time.”

The new hire follows the recent appointment of Nick Harper as portfolio manager and asset allocation specialist. Finally, Chris Forgan, fund manager in the team, will be leaving the business at the start of August.

The Janus Henderson multi-asset team collectively has over 150 years of investing experience and runs £5.1bn* of assets for both institutional and retail clients.
