Janus Henderson Investors appoints George Maris and Alex Crooke as Co-Heads of Equities

​London and Denver – Janus Henderson Investors (NYSE: JHG, ASX: JHG) today announced the appointment of George Maris and Alex Crooke as Co-Heads of Equities.  George will be responsible for leading Equities in the US and Alex will be responsible for leading Equities in the EMEA & APAC regions. Both George and Alex will jointly report to Enrique Chang, Global Chief Investment Officer.

Surging global dividends breaking records for 2017

​Global dividends surged in the third quarter, jumping 14.5% on a headline basis to $328.1bn, comfortably a Q3 record. The headline growth rate was easily the fastest increase in any quarter in over three years and was pushed higher by generous special dividends. It took the Janus Henderson Global Dividend Index to 168.2, its highest ever level, with companies on track to deliver record dividends in 2017.

​Henderson Global Investors has expanded its institutional offering with the launch of the Henderson Cash-flow Driven Investment (CDI) Strategy. This new strategy has been developed in response to the growing number of defined benefit pension schemes turning cash-flow negative, and will be co-manged by Colin Fleury, head of secured credit and Stephen Thariyan, global head of credit. It aims to help defined benefit pension schemes meet their cash-flow needs over the next 5-10 years, while avoiding selling down assets at inappropriate times or holding high cash balances.

​Global dividends rose 2.2% to US$218.4bn in the first quarter of 2016, according to the latest Henderson Global Dividend Index, an increase of $4.7bn year on year. This pushed the HGDI to 158.8, its highest level in a year.

Global dividends fall in Q2 as the US dollar soars in value, but underlying growth is strong

​Henderson Global Investors has confirmed that its Henderson UK Property OEIC will be unaffected by the planned sale of its 40 percent joint venture holding in TIAA Henderson Real Estate (TH Real Estate). The fund, managed by TH Real Estate, will remain an integral part of Henderson’s fund range, with Henderson continuing to administer, distribute and market the fund.

Pension Insurance Corporation appoints Henderson Global as part of preparations for Solvency II

​Pension Insurance Corporation (“PIC”), a specialist insurer of defined benefit pension funds, has appointed Henderson Global Investors as its sole external Sterling corporate bond manager, as part of preparations for the implementation of a “buy-to-hold” asset strategy under Solvency II. Henderson will now manage a £3.2 billion portfolio, more than doubling its previous mandate.

Global dividends reached a new record in 2014, but a surging US dollar clouds the horizon

​Global dividends soared 10.5% to $1.167 trillion in 2014, a new record, according to the latest Global Dividend Index from Henderson Global Investors.

Underlying growth, was still robust at 8.8%, even with generous special dividends, exchange rate movements and other factors stripped out. The level of the HGDI reached 159.9 at the end of 2014, meaning that dividends have grown almost 60% in just five years.

Henderson Global Investors launches two new credit funds
