Janus Henderson Investors builds wholesale and global distribution teams

Janus Henderson Investors has today announced two new senior roles within the continental European and Latin American distribution team.

Effective from today, Steven de Vries, stepped into the role of Head of Global Financial Institutions, and in addition, Ignacio de la Maza, has been appointed Head of Continental Europe Wholesale & Latin America.

These appointments strengthen the footprint of Janus Henderson Investors across continental Europe and Latin America in key areas of global relationships and wholesale.

They will both report to Greg Jones, Head of Distribution, EMEA & Latin America.

To support Steven de Vries’ new role an additional hire will be made in the coming months.

As well as taking on responsibility for wholesale in continental Europe and Latin America, Ignacio de la Maza will continue to manage sales for Latin America and Iberia, a team of seven individuals.

Commenting on the senior appointments Greg Jones, Head of Distribution, EMEA & Latin America said, “Strengthening our senior distribution team with these global and wholesale appointments, reflects the significant role that Steven and Ignacio have played in driving business growth over the past five years.

“In these mature markets it is vital to maintain and broaden our appeal in global financial relationships and wholesale distribution. Now, with the merger complete, and at least a quarter of our work force placed in distribution, we hope to consolidate our position and continue to build on our strong client base.”

Janus Henderson Investors already has a strong market presence across continental Europe, and continues to build presence in Latin America. The expanded global distribution team for Janus Henderson Investors is almost 600 individuals, of which 230 are based in Europe.
