Janus Henderson to acquire investment businesses from Insignia Financial and establish a long-term strategic partnership

  • Acquisition adds A$33 billion in funds under management (FUM) across Janus Henderson’s Australian fixed income and equities businesses as part of a wider strategic partnership between Janus Henderson and Insignia Financial

30 July 2026

London & Sydney – Janus Henderson today announces that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Insignia Financial Ltd (“Insignia”), one of Australia’s leading wealth management providers, which includes the acquisition of three specialist investment management businesses: Antares Fixed Income, Antares Equities, and Fairview Equity Partners.

The three businesses manage approximately A$33 billion across Australian fixed income, broad-cap equities, and small-cap equities, significantly deepening Janus Henderson’s commitment to Australia and expanding its local investment capability. The client base is predominantly institutional, spanning both Insignia mandates and third-party institutional clients while also including a range of established retail investment strategies.

Antares Fixed Income will join Janus Henderson’s existing Australian fixed interest team, creating one of the largest dedicated fixed income offerings in the local market. Antares Equities will become part of Janus Henderson’s global equity business, continuing to provide Australian large-cap equities serving institutional and retail clients. Fairview Equity Partners, in which Janus Henderson will acquire Insignia’s 40% stake, will continue to operate independently as a boutique Australian small-cap manager.

The transaction further enhances a long-term strategic partnership between Janus Henderson and Insignia, through which Janus Henderson delivers a broad range of its global investment capabilities across Insignia’s investment solutions. The partnership supports Insignia’s focus on delivering scalable, cost-effective investment solutions for its members and clients, while providing both firms with a basis for long-term growth.

The transaction aligns with Janus Henderson’s broader strategy of partnering with large institutional clients and scaling existing capabilities in areas of client demand, while supporting its strategic priorities by strengthening its core business in Australia and diversifying its capabilities through the acquisition of established investment teams.

Ali Dibadj, Chief Executive Officer of Janus Henderson, said, “We are excited to announce this partnership with Insignia, which significantly strengthens our presence in Australia and reflects our long-term commitment to a market of strategic importance for the firm. By combining the acquisition of established investment teams with a long-term partnership, we are able to deepen our relationship with a leading wealth manager and broaden the capabilities we provide to clients”.

Garry Mulcahy, CEO Asset Management Insignia Financial, commented, “We are delighted to enhance our strategic partnership with Janus Henderson. The combination of Janus Henderson’s global investment capabilities and the expertise of the Antares and Fairview teams creates a strong foundation for future growth in the Australian market. We have had a long association with Janus Henderson and look forward to continuing to work with such a high calibre global investment firm.”

Financial terms of the transaction are not disclosed, and the transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.
