DENVER, CO – June 29, 2026 – Janus Henderson Investors today announced a series of strategic appointments designed to further strengthen the firm’s specialized institutional client coverage model across insurance, OCIO & financial institutions, and alternatives clients.
The appointments reflect Janus Henderson’s continued investment in delivering thoughtful, client-centric investment services tailored to the distinct needs of institutional investors. The expanded team structure reinforces the firm’s intentional focus on deeper specialization and more dedicated client engagement across key growth segments.
The new hires include:
• Sanaz Maleki, focused on insurance client coverage. Prior to joining the firm, she was a vice principal of institutional investment coverage – insurance at Nuveen. She has 18 years of financial industry experience.
• Kevin Smith, focused on outsourced CIO and financial institutions coverage. Prior to joining the firm, he was a managing director for Participant Capital from 2023, and a director at Crossbay Capital Partners, LLC from 2021. He has 26 years of financial industry experience.
• Chris Castano, focused on alternatives client engagement and solutions. Prior to joining the firm, he was head of sales and distribution at Sextant Capital Solutions from 2023 and managing director, business development – head of wealth at GCM Grosvenor from 2010. He has 25 years of financial industry experience.
In these roles, the team will work closely with institutional clients to deliver differentiated investment capabilities and customized solutions aligned to evolving market demands and portfolio objectives.
