Janus Henderson take the security of our investors very seriously. We advise you to be alert to fraudsters claiming to represent Janus Henderson Investors. Variations of the Janus Henderson name are often used by these individuals and they often encourage investors to visit malicious sites, setup a new dealing account or to invest in fictitious funds.

25 Feb 19 We are aware that some members of the public have received unsolicited phone calls and mail approaches by fraudsters alleging that an investment in their name has been acquired and sold, with the proceeds being held by Janus Henderson as guarantor until a fee is paid and the proceeds released. Please be aware that we do not contact members of the public offering to buy or sell any investment product, nor provide a guarantor service. If you receive such an approach, we recommend you break contact immediately. If in doubt or if you have any questions, please contact our helpline.

Holdings with Janus Henderson

Janus Henderson are trying to contact clients who held investment products (ISA, PEP, OEIC & Unit Trusts) with us or a company that was either part of the wider group or companies that were aquired (please see list below). This is because, in some cases we have lost touch and are making efforts to re-engage with our clients.

21 Mar 17 We are aware that a small number of Investment Trust investors have received unsolicited phone calls with offers to buy their holding from individuals fraudulently claiming to be Henderson staff. Please be aware that Henderson does not make phone calls to the general public offering to buy or sell any form of investment product. If you receive such an approach, we recommend that you break contact immediately. If in doubt or if you have any questions, please contact our helpline.
19 Aug 16 Henderson Global Investors (“HGI”) is aware that some members of the public have received unsolicited phone calls from a company called Henderson Capital. Note he has used the names of Mr Appleby and Mr Bailey. He has been offering to sell carbon credit products and he claims to be part of the HGI group. Please be aware Mr Appleby and Henderson Capital are not connected with HGI, however we do have a Mr Bailey who works for HGI but stress that our staff do not make unsolicited phone calls offering to sell any form of investment product. If you receive such an approach, we recommend that you break contact immediately. If in doubt or if you have any questions, please contact our helpline.
19 Oct 15 Henderson has determined that spam email messages purporting to be from Henderson Managed Investment Trusts, referencing The City of London investment Trust plc and “Safe Simple Comissions [sic]” have been sent to a number of individuals. Should you receive one of these messages please do not click on the link in the email and delete it immediately. Please contact our helpline should you receive one of these emails or if you have any questions.
19 Aug 15 Henderson is aware of a company, Henderson Global Trading, which is fraudulently claiming to be affiliated to Henderson Global Investors and/or Henderson Group PLC. This company is offering asset release services and issuing invoices for up-front payment. We do not offer such a service and recommend that if you receive an approach that you break contact immediately. If in doubt or if you have any questions, please contact our helpline.
04 Feb 15 Henderson is aware that some members of the public have received unsolicited phone calls from persons purporting to work for, or on behalf of, Henderson Global Investors. These individuals have been offering to sell products such as fixed rate bonds with 1-2 years maturity. Please be aware that Henderson staff do not make phone calls to the general public offering to sell any form of investment product. If you receive such an approach, we recommend that you break contact immediately. If in doubt or if you have any questions, please contact our helpline.
06 Sep 13 Henderson does not facilitate the provision of a Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) or Bank Guarantee (BG), nor does Henderson contact businesses introducing its clients as offering loans in a private capacity. If you have been approached by someone alleging otherwise we recommend that you do not respond and break contact immediately. If in doubt or if you have any questions, please contact our helpline.
25 Jul 13 Henderson is aware that a number of companies have been approached with an offer of a significant direct private investment loan from individuals purporting to be either fund owner or financial consultant of Henderson Global Investors Limited who are using the email domain @henderson-invest.com. If you receive such an approach we advise that you do not reply to it and break contact immediately.
14 Aug 12 Emails purporting to from Henderson using the domain @hdinvestors.com are being sent to individuals and businesses offering investment into the recipient's business venture upon payment of legal fees. This domain is not associated with any Henderson Global Investors entity or product and Henderson does not solicit business in this way. If you recieve one of these emails, we advise that you do not reply to it and break contact with the sender immediately.
06 Mar 12 Emails Purporting to be from Henderson Global Investors staff are being sent seeking investment opportunities for Henderson Marginal Capital Fund. Henderson does not solicit business in this way nor does it manage a Margin Capital Fund. If you recieve one of these emails, we advise that you do not reply to it and break contact with the sender immediately.
11 May 11 Emails are being sent from an unauthorised gmail account, formica.andrew@gmail.com, offering to sell the following cash instruments: BG/SBLC/MTN/CD, (Bank Guarantee, Stand By Letter of Credit, Medium Term Notes, Certificate of Deposit). The emails attach documents incorporating Henderson's registered name and logo, together with a fake copy of Mr Formica's passport and a forgery of his signature. Please be aware that this is a scam. If you receive one of these emails, we advise you not to reply to it and to break contact with the sender immediately.
04 Feb 11 The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc ('HSCIT') is aware that some shareholders have been called recently, ostensibly from New York, about an offer to buy up 51% of HSCIT's shares from a company (unnamed) that wishes to acquire HSCIT's 'patents and licences'. HSCIT is not aware of any such offer and has no patents and licences. It is highly probable that this 'offer' is being used as a means of acquiring shareholders' personal details for illicit purposes. Shareholders are advised to be very wary of such any calls and to avoid giving any personal information to unsolicited callers. If in doubt, shareholders are asked to contact the Company Secretary at Henderson Global Investors on 020 7818 4469.
